Matt Sconce is the Chief Creative Officer and Co-Founder of the start-up company Movie Heroes, the Co-Founder of Movie Heroes Studios as well as a multi-award winning Filmmaker with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication.

Sconce also owns a 5 screen movie theater by Yosemite National Park.

In 2004, Sconce won a national American Idol music video contest (Ford Casting Call). He won a new car and appeared in an American Idol music video.

Since then, He has produced 12 short films, written 7 feature screenplays, and produced 8 feature films, 4 of which he directed. His feature “Stricken” was released by Warner Bros/Gravitas on 15 million televisions and is now available on DVD.

His comedy feature, “FIREFALL – An Epic Family Adventure”, was released limited theatrically in 2013, is now out on Bluray and DVD and his editing skills for Local NBC affiliate KSEE24 were nominated for an EMMY.

Sconce’s horror film, ALTAR, released successfully worldwide in June of 2016 with a year contract with HULU and across all other platforms at the same time.

The faith-based film he recently produced, Victory by Submission, is releasing this year. Victory by Submission features Eric Roberts, Lee Majors, Fred Williamson, Rachel Hendrix, and Alan Autry in supporting roles.

Sconce has won and been nominated for many awards in the festival circuit including best film, best director, best screenplay, etc for many of his projects.

One of his recently produced shorts he produced, “The Astronaut”, screened in the Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner and qualified for the Academy Awards.

Sconce recently was awarded Best Director at the Red Dirt Film Festival and the Malibu Film Awards for his work on ALTAR.

ALTAR won 22 awards on the festival circuit.

Sconce’s most recent short film is an action/thriller “proof of concept” film titled “Killing Kate”. The feature script is complete for the film and Sconce is seeking investors for the project.

Sconce led a marketing campaign with Movie Heroes that saved a small town theater from disappearing and launched a new way for theaters to do business that is now gaining national recognition with articles in the LA Times, Forbes and CNN, and the adoption of subscription offerings at both Regal and AMC theaters.

In 2014 Sconce was inducted into the Elite Black Belt Hall of Fame as a Senior Master of his Martial Art system “The Way” and the Argentina Hall of Masters in 2016. He also holds black belts in Tae Kwon Do, Seieido, and Eagle ASDA, as well as instructor status in Shaolin Kenpo.

In 2016, Sconce released his first novel - a fantasy adventure titled Stormbreaker. It is currently available through Amazon, Amazon Kindle and Barnes & Noble, and Audible. He is hard at work on the sequel, Stormbreaker 2.

Sconce is currently an investor with Legion M in the Nacho Vigalondo film, Colossal, starring Anne Hathaway and Jason Sudeikis, Mandy, starring Nicolas Cage, and more.

His most recent film, "The Girl on the Mountain" broke the top 1000 most popular movies in the world for two weeks, has had the trailer viewed over 1,200,000 times (across all social media platforms), has been in the featured section of Vudu for a month and just appeared in the featured new movies of Amazon, garnered a 4/5 star Amazon rating, a 88% positive Rotten Tomatoes 🍅 Audience Score, but most important of all, touched people’s hearts with a message of hope, healing, love, and adventure.

Sconce recently produced, shot, and directed the music video for, social media star and actress, Sarah Dorothy Little’s cover of Noah Cyrus’ “July” and a Corinne Joy’s cover of “Dandelions”.
